If you want your website to rank well within the Search Engines you must have great content. It all starts with keyword research and choosing what terms and phrases you want your website to rank for.  Once you have chosen your keywords you must think about the services you provide and how to break them down via landing pages.  This will help consumers stay on your website for longer periods of time because your website will direct them to the correct page from their search.


Once the landing pages are made it’s important to place your keywords within the pages H1’s.  These website headers tell Google what your page is about and how to rank it.


Furthermore, it’s important to write customized SEO titles and meta descriptions.  These are essentially the promotional message consumers will see online prior to clicking on your website.  As a general rule of thumb, you should always have your targeted keyword in your SEO title and meta description.  A great way to manage these promotional messages is through the Yoast SEO plugin.  It provides great features that inform you weather your landing page is properly optimized or not.


Once this is complete your website needs to focus on its on-page linking structure.  This works by linking certain keywords and phrases to other pages.  For example, if you home page talks about affordable advertising – you should link that word to your affordable advertising page.  This helps visitors navigate your website easier and also increases your websites organic rankings on Google.


After you have completed your websites on-page linking you need to think about your keyword density.  In the past websites, would simply type their keywords and hide them at the bottom of the page.  However, Google has gotten much smarter!  If you are caught performing  Black Hat SEO techniques, your website will surely be deindexed from the search engine results.


The best way to stay follow Googles keywords density guidelines is to review their White Hat SEO policies.  The keyword density on your website should not exceed 5% as it could flag your website for review.
