We at AdPros always recommend our clients use their Google Analytics dashboard to make sure they are aware of what’s going on with their website. There are many reasons why a business owner would want to be familiar with and understand the inner workings of Google Analytics. Today, we’ll deep dive into a few of those topics!
First of all, after you have Google Analytics set up on your website, there are loads of information to be gleaned from the platform! Are you interested in seeing how many people visited your website in a given time period? Or what about where those users are located? These are easily accessible from Google Analytics.
The greatest part of using Google Analytics is that it can inform you of your traffic’s site behavior. That information then informs you of any changes you should be making to your website. Are people mainly coming from New York? Maybe you should focus more efforts on that state to capitalize on those already interested folks.
Speaking of marketing, that’s another great value of GA. You can see how each of your tactics are performing and where you should be investing more or perhaps pulling back. If you know that PPC traffic is converting at a much higher rate than display traffic, for example, you could decide to shift some of your marketing budgets around. Or if you see that one particular page on your website is converting higher than the rest, you can choose to start sending more traffic to that page to capitalize on that success.
